What is Employee Engagement

Basically  employee engagement is commitment of an employee to achieve organisational goals emotional attachment to the organisation  . Engaged employees are enthusiastic about their work and mostly motivated to go an extra mile beyond  their basic job duties (Harter, J K Et al .2002)

 

Why Engaged Employees are Important

in order to achieve  better business performance an organisation needs engaged employees who are more productive . on the other hand Organizations with high engagement levels experience reduced employee turnover and are more creative as well as  solve problems

efficiently and contribute to innovation. Creation of a such positive work culture would helps to achieve higher customer satisfaction . (Bakkera A, B et al  2008)

Daily Work Engagement

A recent research has begun focusing on daily work engagement. Diary studies provide meaningful insights by capturing employees  concurrent  experiences and emotions  by reducing  the limitations of reflective reporting. (Bakkera A, B at al ,2008)

This method also enables researchers to explore the direct relationship between daily engagement levels and daily job performance, offering a more nuanced view of employee behavior.

According to Iddagoda, Dissanayake, et al.(2022)  There is a   relationship of employee engagement between high performance practices, strong religious belief and job performance. It  provides  new insights for policymakers and practitioners to enhance performance in the banking sector.suggesting that engaged employees were more likely to perform well when they perceived organizational support
